The Shepherd of the Hills Garden Club’s Blue Star Memorial monument will have a new home before Veterans Day.
The SHGC will host a rededication ceremony for their Blue Star Memorial on Wednesday, Nov. 8, at its new location at the Veterans Memorial Garden in Branson. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and the public is invited to attend, but parking is limited.
The SHGC originally worked with several community partners to raise the funds needed to create the Blue Star Memorial in 2009. The monument was placed at the Missouri Department of Conservation’s Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery and Conservation Center and dedicated in the fall of 2009. The conservation center was closed in March of 2023 to begin construction on a new updated and larger facility, which is scheduled to be completed in 2025.
