A Branson area businesswoman is being honored for her efforts to assist children who are caught up in the legal system.
Mary Trexler, who owns and operates Branson’s only cat cafe, Mochas and Meows, has been named the Rookie of the Year in Taney County for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). CASA is an organization who provides specially-trained citizens who represent a child victim in abuse and neglect cases. Trexler received her honor at CASA of Southwest Missouri’s annual volunteer appreciation celebration on Friday, May 2.
