A longtime employee of Stone County is appointed by Missouri Governor Mike Parson to fill out an unexpired term in the Clerk's Office.
Denise Dickens takes over for Cindy Elmore, who resignation became official last Friday after she announced she was leaving to move back to her hometown of Lebanon.
Dickens has worked for the County for over 30 years including 17 of those years as Deputy County Clerk. Dickens recently has been the Administrative Assistant to the Stone County Commission.
Dickens, from Crane, also serves on that City's Planning and Zoning Board as well as on the Southwest Missouri Solid Waste District Council, and the Ozark Area Community Action Corporation County Advisory and Area Board.
Dickens will fill the role until the Clerk's Position is up for election in 2022.
