The National Weather Service has ended the Flood Watch for parts of the Lakes Region though rain is still in the forecast for most of the area this Memorial Day.
The Flood Watch is no longer in effect for southern Missouri however northern Arkansas remains under the Flood Watch through the day. Forecasters do expect rain region wide but the more intense rain is expected in Arkansas.
Despite the Flood Watch ending in the Missouri Lakes Region, the James River at Boaz and Galena remains under a Flood Warning through Thursday afternoon. The river stage at Galena had risen to over 23 ft. during the day on Sunday but will be receding over the next several days and will be back below the flood stage of 15 ft. on Thursday.
Water levels are also high at the Buffalo National River with several areas above Flood Stage as of Monday morning.
Temperatures today will only be in the low 60s but will begin to rise as the rain moves out after Tuesday with highs back into the 80s by the end of the week.
