After a one-day break, Heat Advisories will be back in place for the Lakes Region.
The National Weather Service has Heat Advisories or Warnings out for most of Arkansas as well as the Missouri Border counties including Barry, Stone, and Taney for this afternoon. Heat Index readings between 107 and 110 are possible today in the region.
Officials offer these reminders for Heat Safety Tips:
Drink plenty of fluids.
Stay in an air-conditioned room whenever possible.
Stay out of the sun.
Check on relatives, neighbors, and others who may be vulnerable to extreme heat.
Outdoor Work Safety
To reduce the risk of heat-related illness during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments.
Hot conditions are expected to continue on Wednesday before the next frontal system will bring in the next chance of rain and cooler conditions Wednesday night into Thursday.
