An investigation is underway after remains have been found in Branson.
According to a release from the City of Branson, on Wednesday at approximately Noon, the Branson Police Department received a 911 call regarding a person locating skeletal remains off Fall Creek Road.
Responding units located several skeletal remains in a heavily wooded area. The remains have been identified as human. The Branson Police Department and the Taney County Coroner investigated the scene throughout the day on Wednesday and are on scene again Thursday morning continuing the investigation. The investigation is in the preliminary stages. No identification of the remains has been made.
The Taney County Coroner is coordinating with a forensic odonatologist and medical personnel to identify the remains and seek a cause of death.
