A Lakes Area man is advocating for a bill signed by Missouri Governor Mike Parson last week that can help seniors with financial relief.
Josh Smith, during a visit to KRZK’s “Ozarks Now” program, talks about Senate Bill 190 which has an option for counties to consider a credit or freeze of Personal Property Tax costs and a certain age or certain level of Social Security benefits. Smith says County Commissions can authorize this by passing a resolution or it can be brought to the ballot by an initiative petition process.
Smith says he hopes to make a presentation to the Taney County Commission soon and will look to get the measure on a future ballot if the Commission declines to pass a resolution.
