An investigation is continuing into a shooting incident that leaves one person dead in Ozark.
Ozarks First reports that Matthew Dedmon, 47, of Springfield is charged with first degree murder and armed criminal action and is being held without bond in Christian County.
The victim has been identified as Joe Newburn, 57, of Ozark. A possible motive for the shooting has not yet been made known.
According to Ozarks First, the victim who suffered multiple gunshot wounds was pronounced dead at Cox South Hospital in Springfield.
Ozark Police tells Ozarks First that they were dispatched to the 100 block of West Church Street near the square around 12:50 Saturday afternoon. A person later identified as Newburn was found laying in the street with gunshot wounds and one person later identified as Dedmon was taking into custody.
