A change in billing for Liberty Utilities Customers related to a program charge.

The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved a request filed by The Empire District Electric Company d/b/a Liberty to adjust the Demand Side Programs Investment Mechanism (DSIM) charge on customer bills. The DSIM charge, which appears as a separate line-item on customer bills, allows Liberty to recover demand-side management program costs and incentives under the Missouri Energy Efficiency Investment Act (MEEIA).
A residential customer using 1,046 kWh (kilowatt-hours) of electricity a month will see the charge decrease by approximately $0.38 a month effective July 1, 2023.
Liberty serves approximately 159,400 electric customers in the Missouri counties of Barry, Barton, Cedar, Christian, Dade, Dallas, Greene, Hickory, Jasper, Lawrence, McDonald, Newton, Polk, St. Clair, Stone and Taney.
