The latest map released Thursday by the U.S. Drought Monitor indicates that recent rain has impacted drought conditions.
In Arkansas, while much of the area south and east of Harrison remains at an Extreme Level, enough rain has fallen to drop parts of Marion and Searcy Counties down from the highest drought level. The rest of the Arkansas Lakes Region is at a Moderate to Severe Level.
In Missouri, most of the Lakes Region remains at a Moderate Level but recent rainfall has eliminated drought conditions in the Roaring River area.
More rain is expected through the weekend before a dry period begins next week.
