According to a post from the Southern Stone County Fire Protection District, firefighters along with the Stone County Sheriff’s Office, Missouri Highway Patrol, and Mercy Emergency Services responded to the crash just before 3:30. One vehicle had gone off the roadway and overturned while another vehicle left the roadway trying to avoid the first vehicle.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the driver of the vehicle that overturned, 68-year-old Bobby Eaton of Cape Fair, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
Traffic was down to one lane in that area for around 90 minutes according to Southern Stone County Fire.
