The National Weather Service predicts the potential for severe weather in the region for Friday.
According to a briefing from the weather service this morning, forecasters say areas from Springfield through Branson to Harrison and as far south as Marshall are at a Level 3 out of 5 for severe thunderstorms with gusty winds being one of the key threats.
Temperatures ahead of the system will continue to warm reaching near 70 on Thursday before the storms begin early Friday morning.
