Three area residents sustain serious injuries in two separate traffic crashes Saturday morning in the Lakes Region.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the first crash occurred around 1:00 am on Route V in Stone County when a Jeep driven by 47-year-old Roy Hopkins of Galena ran off the roadway striking a culvert and overturning. Hopkins was taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for treatment of his injuries.
Meanwhile the Patrol reports that a wet roadway played a role in a two-vehicle crash in Southern Taney County that injured two people from Northern Arkansas. The accident occurred around 7:00 am on Highway 86 west of Ridgedale when 35-year-old Patricia Morris of Berryville lost control of her pick-up truck and hit another pick-up head-on. Morris and a passenger in her truck, 34-year-old Robert Brothers of Harrison, were both taken to Cox South for treatment of their injuries. A passenger in the other pick-up escaped with only minor injuries.
