Two traffic accidents Sunday in the Lakes region results in one death and another serious injury.
The first accident took place on Taney County Highway H Sunday morning when a pick-up truck driven by 67-year-old Michael Stenger of Forsyth ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected going off the left side of the road and striking a rock bluff. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Report, Stenger was transported to Cox Medical Center in Branson where he was later pronounced dead. This is the 161st fatality in traffic crashes worked by Troop D of the Missouri Highway Patrol in 2022.
Meanwhile, a man from Arkansas sustains serious injuries in a crash that occurred Sunday afternoon in Barry County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol report indicates the accident occurred on Highway 39 north of Jenkins when a pick-up driven by 23-year-old Cody Glover of Green Forest ran off the highway, struck a tree, and overturned ejecting Glover from the vehicle. Glover was taken by Lifeline to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment of his injuries.
