The completion of a renovation project will be marked by a Ribbon Cutting on Friday.
TURF'S UP takes place at the Branson Rec Plex to mark the completion of the installation of turf to the four fields which will expand the possibility for tournaments and other activities at the complex.
According to the release from the City of Branson, gates for the event will open at 5:45 with the event to go from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Activities include playing catch on the new turf, running the bases with Louie the brightly-colored red bird from the Springfield Cardinals, participating in live pitching, testing your pitching speed against a radar gun, and playing kickball.
In addition, the Branson Police and Fire Department will square off in a game plus there will be live music. The first 100 kids will receive a free “Turf’s Up” t-shirt.
The new surface that was made possible by $1.6 million in American Rescue Plan Act funds through the Local Tourism Asset Development Program. New LED Lighting was also added to the fields.
Branson 4 U, Legends 1063, and MY 100.1 will be on hand for a Live Radio Party during the event.
