Two people from Crane are dead after their car was hit by a vehicle being pursued by law enforcement late Friday night.
According to a report from the Missouri Highway Patrol, a pick-up truck was being pursued by a Lawrence County Deputy when the pursuit crossed into Barry County and the pick-up failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of Highways 60 and 37 in Monett striking a car in the intersection and fatally wounding two people in the car.
53-year-old Larry Brock and 61-year-old Lydia Storey were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pick-up, 19-year-old Rafael Maldonado Contreras of Monett, is facing several felony charges in relation to the fatality crash, driving while intoxicated, and possession of cocaine.
