For the second week in a row, Branson gets the lone win for a MOARK School with Harrison off this week and tough road losses for Forsyth, Hollister, and Reeds Spring.
Branson opens Ozark Mountain Conference play with a 42-21 road win at Marshfield. The Pirates scored on the games second play on an interception return for a touchdown by Tred Houston, but Marshfield answered back with a long touchdown drive. The Pirates built a two- score lead late in the first only to see Marshfield score on the first of a pair of two-play drives to close the gap to seven at half.
After a scoreless third quarter, the points started piling up in the fourth quarter as three touchdowns were scored in :45 seconds of clock time. Pirate Quarterback Vincente Pastrana scored from 15 yards out, only to see Marshfield answer with the second of their two-play drives to cut the lead back to seven. However, Pastrana scampered 60 yards for a touchdown on the first play after the kickoff to help put the game away.
Noah McCright and Blake Weber each had scores for the Pirates leading to the win.
