Alex Robert Moore “The Donut Man”
In the evening of December 27, 2021, Alex Robert Moore, 55, of Western Grove, passed away at his home. Surrounded by family.
Alex was born on September 25, 1966, in Orléans, France. Born an army brat, he was given the choice of citizenship at the age of 18. He received a two year degree from a culinary school in southern Florida. He worked years in the food and beverage industry. This field tested his artistic skills with intricate ice carvings to spectacular life size gingerbread houses. He later became the owner/operator of Daylight Donuts. He took much pride in his donuts but even more in customer care. He quickly found himself a part of the Harrison community. “The Donut Man” they called him.
Alex enjoyed anything outdoors. Hunting, fishing, hiking and SCUBA diving. He and his wife, Kim, would take annual trips to the Florida Keys to partake in all of these activities. He loved tinkering with motors of any size. He built his first motorcycle at the age of 15.
Alex was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Kim Moore of Western Grove; his sons, Nicholas Reno and his wife, Alicia, of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Joshua Moore and his wife, LaTisha, of Branson, Missouri, and Zachery Moore and his wife, Courtney, of Western Grove; his grandchildren, Kaman Reno, Majer Reno, Tristan Smith, Lillian Smith, Brantley Moore, Conner Allers, Mayliee Moore, and Alex Moore; his sisters, Jennifer Moore of California, Leigh Moore of California, and Angela Duckworth of Georgia; his brothers, Chris Clary and Allen Clary, both of Georgia; his uncle, Robert Hersh and his wife, Debra, of Maryland; and other relatives and friends.
