Freddie Lee Stewart, 77, of Green Forest
Freddie Lee Stewart, 77, of Green Forest died peacefully at home on January 2, 2022. He was born in Oak Grove, Arkansas July 24th 1944, son of Vernon Cecil and Geraldine Faye (Johnson) Stewart.
Freddie started working with heavy equipment in his early teenage years building golf courses across the US, eventually designing one for legendary Pro Golfer, Jack Nicklaus in California. Later, he started his own business in the Green Forest area clearing land, building ponds and chicken house pads. From 1991 until his retirement in 2009, he worked and travelled with Sheehan Pipeline. With him all the while, and well into retirement, was his beloved wife of 56 years, Sharon Kay (Collins) Stewart.
An avid antique enthusiast, wood craftsman, gardener, and outdoorsman, Freddie found joy in these hobbies thanks to his grandparents, Lester and Roxie Johnson. This joy he shared and passed on to his daughters, and grandchildren.
Freddie is survived by his wife Sharon Stewart, his daughters Kathy Holman (Bobby), and Shelly Murray (Billy), his grandchildren, Dustin Holman and great granddaughter Brooke, Weston Holman (Morgan) and great granddaughter Emmy, Kyle White (Rosalinda), Haley Hutcherson (Caleb), Logan Wood and great grandson Freddie, Tayte, Garrett, and Ryan Murray. He’s also survived by his siblings Loretta Williams, Helen Youngblood, Wanda Nicol, Syble Arnold, Jesse (Penny) Stewart, Ruth Ann Hill and Timmy Hammons, Maxine Collins, Howard and Sharon Collins, Linda (Tom) Norris, and Brenda (Bob) Taylor.
He is predeceased by his parents, Cecil and Geraldine Stewart, his daughter, Joylin White, his sons Brian and Gary Stewart, and his siblings Connie, Jr, and Lester Stewart.
A gathering for family and friends will be 9:00 am till 10:00 am, Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Nelson’s Green Forest Chapel. Memorial service will be 10:00 am, Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Nelson’s Green Forest Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
