Prudence Norton June 16, 1921 - May 9, 2022

Prudence Norton, age 100 of Deer, AR, passed away Monday, May 9, 2022 at Legacy Heights Nursing Home in Russellville, AR.

The daughter of Columbus and Polly (Snow) Benegar was born June 16, 1921 in Wayton, AR.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband John Henry Norton; her son, Lynn Carroll Benegar; her sisters, Girty Benegar, Ethel Benegar, and Liota Benegar; her brothers, Otis Benegar, Denver Benegar, Hansel Benegar, and Archie Benegar.

Prudence was a member of the Deer Baptist Church; she also attended the Baptist church in Ohio and Tennessee.  She raised cattle and worked on their farm.  She was an avid golfer.  She would play in tournaments to help raise money for children in need.  Her golf partner was Minnie Pearl.

She is survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who loved her and will miss her.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Monday, May 16, 2022, at the Deer Baptist Church with Pastor Stan Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Gove Cemetery in Nail, AR.

There will be a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00AM Monday prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Spradley, David Cooper, Jimmy Cooper, Larry Davis, Joe Cowell, and Gary Spradley.
