Raymond Roy Wright November 23, 1938 - May 17, 2022
Raymond Roy Wright, 83, a resident of Harrison, went to meet his Savior Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born November 23, 1938, at Weslaco, Texas to Leonard James “L. J.” and Beatrice Leona Lester Wright. He was a truck driver for many years, having worked for Harrison Auto Salvage. He was a United States Navy veteran and a member of the Snow Full Gospel Church. He loved to preach and sing and share the love of God. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Joe and Truman Wright; four sisters, Velma Tidmore, Minnie Grinder, Leona Staton, and Lilly Baker; and many other loved ones.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Vickie “Baby Doll” Carter Wright of Harrison; his children, Sandy (Elizabeth) Wright of Pindall, Missy (David) Sutterfield of Green Forest, Buddy Dale (Denya) Carter of St. Louis, Missouri, Christopher Crow of Harrison, Rayme Wright of Harrison, and Jessica (C. J.) Crawford of Bergman; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Fred Wright of Branson, Missouri; three sisters, Shirley Alford of Alpena, Thelma Busby of Blaire, Oklahoma, and Linda Coppage of Eldorado, Oklahoma; and other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Holt Memorial Chapel with Bro. Brent Fisk officiating. Burial will be in Sandhill Cemetery at Yardell under the direction of Holt Memorial Chapel.
Active pallbearers will be David Sutterfield, C. J. Crawford, Jake Cain, John Meyer, Ted Carter, and David Carter. Honorary pallbearers will be Sandy Wright, Jay Jackson, Danny Cain, Michael McCutcheon, and Jimmy Dale “Domino” Carter.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made in Raymond’s memory to help with medical expenses.
