Vada Mae Cook March 06, 1935 - March 20, 2022

Vada Mae Cook, 87, a resident of Bass, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2022, at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison.

She was born March 6, 1935, at Bass, the only child of Lloyd Edmond and Ola Elizabeth Hill Casey.  She was a member of the Bass Church of Christ from a teenager.  She married Loma Lee Cook Jr. on May 9, 1953, at Jasper.  She loved the Lord and reading His word and taught her grandchildren to sing His praises with her.   She loved to squirrel hunt, fish, and garden.  She was a farmer, a homemaker, and loved animals, especially her dogs who hunted with her.   Her pride and joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who filled her life with joy and love.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents, Peggy Margaret Florence Dean Hill and Marion Hill, and Jessie and Mary Hamilton Casey; her in-laws, Fannie McCutcheon Cook and Loma Lee Cook Sr.; a sister-in-law, Oma Cook Castleberry; and brother-in-law, William Hearl Cook.

She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Loma Lee Cook Jr. of Bass; three children, Connie Jean Moore of Bass, Virginia Gail Patterson and her husband, Jesse of Flippin, and James Cook and his wife, Amy Hill Cook, of Bass; six grandchildren, Stephanie Hillis, Amber Mendez, Shelia Cook, Jamie L. Cook, Bradley Swenson and his wife, Kate, and Cassie Burrow; 13 great-grandchildren; several cousins; and many beloved brothers and sisters in Christ.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 25, 2022, at the Bass Church of Christ.   Burial will be in Cook Cemetery at Bass under the direction of Holt Memorial Chapel.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, great-grandsons, and other family members.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time on Friday at the church.
