April Nicole Jones, age 41, of Exeter, Missouri passed away Friday, April 10, 2026.
She was born August 13, 1984 in Blountstown, Florida, the daughter of James “Rabbit” and Elizabeth Gail (Desrosiers) Peters and Jim and Julie Hewitt. On July 4, 2016 in Cassville, Missouri she was united in marriage to Kenneth Jones, who survives. Also surviving are her father, James “Rabbit” Peters; sons, David Jones of Exeter, Missouri and Ryan Kubowicz of Colorado; daughters, Ruth Jones of Exeter, Missouri and Tabitha Hall and husband Caleb of Kerrville, Texas; brothers, Alan of Blountstown, Florida, Jamie Peters of Blountstown, Florida and Joshua Peters of Blountstown, Florida; sisters, Carrie Polanco of Rockport, Texas, Tina Whitehurst of Clarksville, Florida, Alisha Peters of Florida and Layonni Keys of Houston, Texas, and four step grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her mother, Gail Elizabeth Robinson; parents, Jim and Julie Hewitt and stepson, Kenneth Jones, II.
April was raised and attended school in Blountstown, Florida, and later made her home in the Exeter area for the past 17 years after moving from Texas. She worked for several years as a security guard. April enjoyed being outdoors, going camping, hunting, and dog breeding. She would light up every room she entered with her infectious smile. Above all, April loved being a mother, going to ball games, band concerts, and school events. She loved her family unconditionally and was of the Christian faith.
A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, May 2, 2026 at American Legion Post 118 Memorial Park in Cassville, Missouri. Brother Tony Ball will conduct the service. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
