In Loving Memory of Bradley Ryan Baker
5/19/1959 – 6/13/2025
He was with us for 66 years and 25 days. With heavy hearts we say goodbye to our beloved. With faith in God's promise of eternal life, we honor the homegoing of Brad Baker who was called to rest on 6/13/2025. He passed away due to sepsis from a chronic health issue.
Growing up, Brad had a loving, fun and active lifestyle. He teased and harassed his big sister Mica, but loved her fiercely and depended on her for guidance and protection. They had a close relationship throughout their lives.
During his early education, he attended Cumberland Hills School in the North Hills area of Pittsburgh PA. When we moved to the South Hills side of town he attended and graduated in 1978 from Pathfinder School. Post high school he spent a lot of time at the Renaissance Center located in downtown Pittsburgh. It was designed to help those adults with cognitive and developmental disabilities. There he could find work, socialize, craft, watch movies, learn a skill or take day trips. They offered so many wonderful options for persons with intellectual disabilities. He was able to succeed in so many ways and enjoyed getting out and socializing. He’s made many dear friends along the way.
Brad was preceded in death by his father Charles Edward Baker 8/4/1931-10/27/2011, and his nephew Evan Taylor Stiff 4/18/1985–7/15/2017. He was survived by his mother Marymae "Kitty" Baker until her recent passing. 6/16/1934–3/14/2026
Surviving family are his sister Mica Baker Mitchell (Stephen), his niece Marissa Marley (Joshua) with their two children, Carter and Norah. Brad is survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins on both sides of the family.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, 10:00 am, at St. James Church in Kirbyville, MO. Brad will be laid to rest in the Edwards family cemetery located in Kirbyville, MO alongside his mother and father at a later date.
