Derek Lamar Patton passed away on June 11, 2026, in Branson West, Missouri. He entered this life on September 23, 1985, to Dale and Debbie (Dankenbring) Patton in Lincon, Nebraska. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Rose Patton and maternal grandfather, Larry Dankenbring.
A man of many talents and interests, Derek loved golfing and found joy in time spent outdoors fishing with his son and walking by the beach and mountains with his daughter. In his younger years, he was an accomplished athlete who played football, basketball, and many track events, showing his determination, discipline, and natural ability. He had a talent to retain information and had a strong desire to always learn, which led him to pursue schooling in cyber security. He was a devoted Christian whose daily life reflected the values he held close to his heart. Derek read his Bible every day and drew strength, comfort, and guidance from his faith.
Derek was known by those who loved him as a funny, loving, and intelligent man. He had a gift for making people smile and could brighten a room with his humor and warm personality. His presence brought comfort and joy to family and friends. Derek will be remembered for the genuine care he showed to everyone who was fortunate enough to know him.
He is survived by his daughter, Willow Patton; son, Wyatt Patton; parents, Dale and Debbie Patton; grandmother, Karen Dankenbring; brother, Dru (Simoné) Patton, and their kids: Star, Zoey, Delaney, and Taryn; brother, Dustin Patton, and his kids: Taylor, Jacob, and Callie; sister, Brittany (Cody) Hembree, and their kids: Vince, Alli, and Natalie; sister-in-law,
Reesh Husser; aunt, Phyllis Jenkins; uncles: Bob (Hope) Dankenbring, Bill (Lisa) Dankenbring, Brad (Lori) Dankenbring; as well as many other extended family members and friends.
