Jerry Lee Heiniger

Jerry Lee Heiniger...

Jerry Lee Heiniger was born on July 28, 1935, in Carterville, Missouri. He attended Carterville High School where he was a football player, basketball player, and editor for the school newspaper. After graduating from High School, he served in the United States Army. Jerry was proud of his service to his country as a paratrooper and his honorable discharge in 1957 as a Sergeant. He later earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Missouri Southern State University in Joplin. He worked many years as a Comptroller for Fasco in Missouri and for EnerSys in Hays, Kansas.

Jerry enjoyed the peace and comfort of living in Powersite after retiring and returning to Missouri in 2002 from Kansas. He rarely missed viewing a gorgeous sunset overlooking Lake Taneycomo near the Powersite Dam throughout all the seasons.

Jerry’s greatest loves in life were his relationship with God and his family. He was an active member at St. Joseph Anglican Church in Branson. He served as both a greeter and an usher and was selfless in sharing the love of Christ with others.

He was also generous with his time and love where his family was concerned, first with his loving Heiniger family. Then on March 19, 2011, he was blessed in marriage to his wife Ann. They were wed in a lovely ceremony at The Old Stone Church in Branson officiated by their priest Father James D. McTaggart. Jerry and Ann enjoyed many years of ballroom dancing together and he was a gifted ballroom dancer. They also enjoyed time with daughter Marni and husband Pat. Jerry and Ann were blessed with three grandchildren: Kirkland and wife Kaitlyn, Karagan Ann, and Keegan Lathrop. This year they were blessed with their one great grandchild Keenan Lathrop. Being called “Grandpa” meant the world to him.

On November 14, 2024 at 4:00 pm, Jerry entered into eternal rest and peace with our Lord at Cox Medical Center in Branson at the age of 89.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elias (Bill) & Josie Heiniger; and three sisters, Lorene Gillard, Marjorie Cochran, and Iris Mae Burke; and a brother Robert (Bob) Heiniger, Sr.

Jerry will be missed by his wife, Ann Heiniger; daughter, Marni Lathrop (Pat) of Branson; grandchildren, Kirkland Lathrop (Kaitlyn) of Virginia, Karagan Ann Lathrop of Virginia, and Keegan Lathrop of Branson; great-grandson, Keenan Lathrop of Virginia, and his beloved church family. Also, he will be missed by Robert (Bob) Heiniger, Jr., (Judy) of Joplin, Michael Heiniger (Anita) of Webb City, Douglas Heiniger (Kimberlee) of Joplin, Jonan Livingston of Theodore, AL, along with a host of other relatives and friends.

A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 1:00 pm in Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory, Branson. Interment will follow in Springfield at 3:00 pm in Missouri Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.

Memorials are requested to be sent to the Anglican Study Group, 511 Eagle Rock Rd., Branson, MO 65616.
