Norma L. Hayward, age 88, of Cassville, Missouri passed away Monday, July 20, 2026 at her home.
She was born February 19, 1938 in Cassville, Missouri, the daughter of Clarance D. and Cora V. (Preddy) Saunders. On December 30, 1956 in Cassville she was united in marriage to Bobby Wayne Hayward, who preceded her in death on October 15, 2006. Also preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, Harold Saunders, Alfred Saunders, and Charles Saunders and sisters, Louise Skelton and June Bateman.
Surviving are her sons, Gary Hayward of Cassville, Missouri and Larry Hayward and wife Vickie of Republic, Missouri; brothers, Johnny Saunders and wife Janie of Washburn, Missouri and Verdayne Saunders and wife Gail of Republic, Missouri; four grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and special friends, Mitchell and Janice Allen of Cassville, Missouri.
Norma attended school in Exeter, Missouri, and graduated from Exeter High School with the Class of 1956. She was a devoted homemaker and a talented seamstress who made her son's clothes for many years. Norma enjoyed cooking, knitting, traveling, and trying new restaurants, but above all, she cherished spending time with her family. She was of the Baptist faith.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 24, 2026 at Mineral Springs Cemetery in Cassville, Missouri, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Laith Hayward will conduct the services.
