Olen Leroy Tate, 81, Kissee Mills, Mo

Olen Leroy Tate, 81, Kissee Mills, Mo. went to be with the Lord on September 9, 2026. He was born January 1, 1945, at Ridgedale, Missouri to Charles J. and Cornelia Ella (Corner) Tate. Olen attended several of the school systems in the area, having Forsyth High School System being the last one, due to the family moving to different locations for work. After school  he enlisted in the United States Army.  He was proud of his service to the country while  being stationed in Germany and Korea.

He married his loving wife Joyce Davis on July 5, 1984, at Verona, Missouri. They celebrated forty-two years together last summer.  

Olen was a lifelong resident of Taney County. He was a member of Taneyville Union Chapel, a trustee for the church, worked in the Sunday School department and because of his love for the Lord  and  the church he helped wherever he was needed.

He was a member of  DAV, Taney County Parks Department (Board?), enjoyed fishing and hunting, playing his guitar and singing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Olen Charles Tate,  three brothers Jackie, James, Jimmy, one sister Betty Jewsbury and several infant siblings,

Olen is survived by his loving wife Joyce of the home, four sons Edward Davis of Forsyth, Mo.; Fred Gilbert of Kissee Mills, Mo.; Dan  Gilbert of Springfield, Mo.; Mike Tate (Connie) of Lawrence, KS.; two daughters Jenna Dunn (Matthew) of Salem, Mo.; Angela Robbins (Brian) of Wichita, KS.; two brothers  Billie Tate (Phyllis) of Taneyville, Mo.; Jerry Tate (Joyce) of Kissee Mills, Mo.; two sisters Madeline Berg of Rockaway Beach, Mo.; Wonda Tate of Forsyth, Mo.; twenty-seven grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Saturday evening Sept. 12, 2026, from 5-6 PM at Snapp-Bearden Forsyth Chapel, Forsyth, Mo. Graveside service will be held Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, at  Kissee Mills Cemetery, Kissee Mills, Mo. 4PM with Pastor Timmy  Sims officiating.
