Thomas Lane "Tom" Brooks, age 59, of Exeter, Missouri
Thomas Lane "Tom" Brooks, age 59, of Exeter, Missouri, passed away peacefully Monday, June 8, 2026, in Cassville, Missouri.
Born March 13, 1967, in Pueblo, Colorado, he was the son of Marland and Dorothy (Barrett) Brooks, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his stepfather, Charlie Simpson; his sister, Carol Eaton, and his beloved dog, Eli.
Surviving are his son, Coltan Brooks, and daughter, Holly Brooks, both of Rogers, Arkansas; his sister, Carrie Brooks; his nephew, Dustin Brooks and his niece, Samantha Brooks all of Springfield, Missouri, and many other cherished family members.
Tom was raised in Pueblo, Colorado, where he graduated from Pueblo County High School. He worked several years as a certified Harley-Davidson mechanic developing the problem-solving mindset that would guide him throughout life. He loved winning and racing asphalt stock cars alongside those he considered family at Beacon Hill Speedway.
After beginning a family, Tom moved to Arkansas starting a career building custom machinery, where he met his best friend Ken Walden and often appreciated the outdoors with their families. He later moved his family to Arizona where he shared the love for motorcycles with them through his time at Hacienda.
Returning to southwest Missouri, Tom began attending Emmanuel Baptist Church. He faithfully drove the church bus and later served as a Deacon. He also enjoyed rebuilding tractors with his stepfather, Charlie.
Tom settled in Exeter where his kindness cultivated the close-knit neighborhood he dearly loved. He rarely met a stranger and was always generous with his time and wisdom. Often he'd be found with an open door for anyone who wanted to stop by or planning the neighborhood cookout.
Tom's resilience and selflessness were admired by all who knew him. He will be truly missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and community.
Services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Thursday, June 18, 2026 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Cassville. Brother Danny Heupel and Pastor Rich Cummings will conduct the services.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
Contributions may be made to the family in memory of Tom.
