Wesley Joe Werner Sr. passed away on June 25, 2026, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was born in Wharton, Texas on February 14, 1950, to parents Victor Werner and Margaret Barak Werner. Wesley was a 1971 graduate of Texas A&M University. He met his wife Patti on a blind date, and they were married on October 2, 1976. They have one son, Wesley Joe Werner Jr.
Wesley was proud to be a true Texan, but the family moved to several surrounding states following various career choices and a curiosity about new places and challenges. He began his working career in sales and worked his way up to management positions in several fields. Wesley led others by his own example of hard work, good business sense, and a policy of fairness with employees and customers alike.
Wesley was a loyal American, faithful Christian, loving family man, and a devoted fan of Texas A&M University. He was an outdoorsman, who enjoyed deer hunting & fishing with his family and friends, especially during his retirement in beautiful Arkansas. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Mountain Home and was very involved in their backpack program for school children. Some of his favorite activities were watching Aggie football, cooking, BBQing, playing pool, and dominoes with family and friends. He loved a good story, his own or as told by others. Wesley had an infectious laugh which was contagious to everyone who met him.
Wesley is survived by his wife, Patti Werner, son, W.J. Werner Jr., sister Minnie Stucker, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. A reception for those who wish to celebrate Wesley’s life, will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Mountain Home on a date and time to be determined and announced in the near future. Later, a private interment will take place in Rosenberg, Texas.
