Active Weather as Temperature Goes from 80 Today to 40 Tomorrow

Today is the day that will begin our 24 hours of temperature and weather extremes.

Forecast highs today are in the 80s but that does also come with gusty winds possible of 40 plus MPH. Red Flag Warnings against burning have been issued for all of southern Missouri while the Arkansas Department of Agriculture also warns against burning today and reminds residence of Carroll, Madison, and Searcy Counties that they are under a County Court Ordered Burn Ban.

While most of the severe weather risk has moved east of the Lakes Region, a brief round of rain and thunderstorms will precede a cold front that will send temperatures all the way down to the upper 20s by Wednesday morning with highs Wednesday afternoon only reaching the 40s. Strong winds will remain but shifted to the northwest.

Temperatures will begin to rebound quickly getting back to the 70s by the weekend.
