One of the buildings in the Cox Medical Center Complex in Branson is evacuated after an apparent lithium-ion battery caught fire.
According to a post on the Branson Professional Firefighters Local 152 Facebook page, units were called to Plaza One Building on Skaggs Road around 8:20 Monday morning. When fire units arrived, Cox staff members said they thought they had the fire out and were evacuating the building. Fire officials confirmed that with an inspection of the building in which they discovered one room damaged by the fire. No injuries were reported.
Firefighters then spent the next two hours ventilating the smoke and fumes from the building. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
