A boat dock along with several boats are damaged after a fire late Wednesday night.

On May 20, 2026, at approximately 22:30 hours, 911 Emergency Services received reports of boats on fire in the Big Cow Creek area of Blue Eye. Multiple units from the Southern Stone County Fire Protection District (SSCFPD), including fire apparatus, rescue boats, and Mercy Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, crews found a boat dock fully involved in fire, along with several nearby boats. Fire boats were deployed to move the burning vessels toward the shoreline, where ground crews were able to extinguish them safely. Fire boat crews and ground personnel worked together to bring the dock fire under control.
The dock sustained significant damage, and an estimated 5–6 boats were affected by the fire. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
