Dry conditions continue to impact the Lakes Region.
Add Boone County to the list of northern Arkansas counties that have issued burn bans.
County Judge Mitchell Archer said in a statement that speaking with the County Fire Coordinator, Office of Emergency Management, and the Forestry Commission, the decision has been made to issue a Burn Ban.
Boone joins area counties Carroll, Madison, and Searcy in having Burn Bans in place. Marion and Newton Counties currently do not have bans in place, but the entire region is listed as a High Risk for Wildfire Danger according to the latest map released from the Arkansas Department of Agriculture.
Many communities and organizations in both Arkansas and Missouri are urging not to engage in outdoor burning during the continued hot and dry conditions.
