Prior to this week's Branson Board of Aldermen Meeting, a Study Session was held to provide an update on a proposed Indoor Sports Facility as part of Development Project.
City Chief of Staff Alex Girard made the presentation during the Tuesday afternoon session. Girard provided a timeline on the most recent discussions of a proposed facility beginning with discussions in late 2024 and early 2025. Currently, the developer has a purchase option on 17 acres of land on Gretna Road across from Branson Meadows and the Branson Chamber of Commerce office. Girard said the land would not only house the facility but also a surrounding development which includes businesses and affordable housing.
Girard said the deadline for the final purchase of the land is September 9.
A Tax Increment Finance District (TIF) was approved for the development in 2025 for six months with an option for extension approved in March of this year.
Girard said a public meeting will be held in August to get public input for the proposed facility which includes Basketball/Volleyball/Pickle Ball Courts and supporting infrastructure including Locker Rooks along with Concession and Seating areas.
More information including a video from the meeting is available on the City of Branson Website.
