Branson Area Considered "Hot Spot" by CDC For COVID Resurgence

The Centers For Disease Control and Prevention has Branson and surrounding Taney County on its list of potential COVID "Hot Spots" after a significant rise in cases over the last two weeks.

In information released over the weekend, the CDC lists Taney as well as nearby Christian and Greene Counties, which includes the metro Springfield area, as areas of concern with rising numbers of cases.

Lisa Marshall, Taney County Health Department Director, said in an interview during a recent "At Your Service" Podcast that the uptick is not surprising, but does mean that people still need to be vigilant against the virus.

Marshall says it is important for people regardless of vaccination or not be mindful of COVID-19 Protocols and encourage Social Distancing and Face Coverings.
