The Branson Board of Aldermen voted to retain City Administrator Stan Dobbins on a 4-2 vote during an Executive Session early Wednesday morning.
The session was called after a six plus hour regular meeting Tuesday night that extended into the early morning hours. A good part of the meeting was taken by responses to comments made by Dobbins at a Study Session the previous week that seemed to disparage the City's Police Department, comments for which he later apologized.
Mayor Larry Milton tells Jason Wert of the Branson Tri-Lakes News that he called the meeting based on increased input from both in and out of City Hall about Dobbins effectiveness. A Sunshine Law request filed by the Branson Tri-Lakes News revealed that in the meeting, the Board voted to retain Dobbins on a 4-2 vote with Clay Cooper and Ruth Denham voting for removal while Aldermen Cody Fenton, Jeff Seay, Bill Skains, and Jamie Whiteis voting to keep Dobbins.
