County Officials Approve Districts for Big Cedar Properties

The Taney County Commission and Circuit Court approve a sales tax increase at Big Cedar Properties for road improvements through a Transportation Development District and Community Improvement District.

The formation of the districts come after many fans reported traffic issues as they attended the Garth Brooks concerts at Thunder Ridge Nature Arena Sept. 30-Oct. 2, though Western District Commissioner Brandon Williams tells Ozarks First that the proposal of the districts had been in the works prior to the concerts.

There are several proposed road improvements listed in the CID including widening Highway 86 from Long Creek Bridge to Highway 65 to 4 lanes and a potential new interchange for the 65-86 intersection. The CID proposes a five-year plan for all the improvements which also include water and sewer improvements in the area.
