Former Reeds Spring Mayor Facing Charges for Time in Office

The Stone County Prosecuting Attorney's Office has filed criminal charges against former Reeds Spring Mayor Rob Chamberlin.

According to information released on the City of Reeds Spring Facebook Page, the charges were filed after the completion of a Missouri State Highway Patrol investigation into Chamberlin's time in office, which ended when he resigned his position earlier this year. Chamberlin is facing one Felony count of Stealing and a Misdemeanor charge of Ethics Violation by an Elected Official. The release did not state the specific incidents related to the charge, however the Probable Cause Statement posted online by Missouri Casenet indicates Chamberlin allegedly used City Funds to purchase items for his own use as well as buying then selling a vehicle to the city in late 2023 at a profit for himself and failing to provide correct background information on the vehicle

The release goes on to say that Chamberlin as well as his significant other, former City Court Clerk Terry Arnold, are being investigated by the Missouri Ethics Commission for their conduct while in office.

The city concluded the press release saying they are looking to move forward to a bright future for the city while Chamberlin posted a response on the city's Facebook entry that he and Arnold have been advise not to respond by their attorney but are anxious for the full truth to come out.
