As September begins, Summertime heat will be making a return to the Ozarks.

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for southern Missouri beginning this afternoon and going through Friday.

Daily Temperatures are expected in the upper 90s to low 100s with Heat Index readings around 105. In addition, nighttime lows will only get down to the mid to upper 70s.

Northern Arkansas is currently not under any Heat Alerts, but temperatures are expected to be in a similar range for most of the week.
The Lakes Region is also expected to stay dry with no rain in the forecast this week and only a slight chance of rain forecast for Labor Day Weekend.

Officials remind people to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, check up on relatives and neighbors, and take extra precautions when outside.
