The full release below is from the Harrison Police Department:

In a team effort with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, Boone County Sheriff’s Office, Green Forest Police Department, Arkansas Division of Community Correction, and the Harrison Police Department, there was a recovery of approximately $25,000 in stolen property following this multi-agency investigation involving advanced law enforcement technology, surveillance footage, and coordinated field operations.  The investigation began on May 13, 2026, after employees at Andy Yeager Motors reported a stolen 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 valued at approximately $19,000.00.  The dealership employees provided security footage and evidence showing the vehicle had been taken from the lot during overnight hours.

Detectives quickly identified Samuel McLeod as a suspect after reviewing surveillance footage.  Detectives later analyzed vehicle information and utilized other technologies available to law enforcement of the Harrison Police Department.  One of the systems allowed officers to track a Dodge Ram registered to McLeod and compare distinctive features from his actual vehicle and the alleged stolen vehicle, including bumper changes, rear window modifications, and the removal of the manufacturer’s emblem from the tailgate.  Additional evidence was obtained through another law enforcement source, which showed McLeod transporting scrap metal in a vehicle matching the stolen truck.

On May 14, 2026, officers from the Harrison Police Department, the Arkansas Division of Community Correction, and the Boone County Sheriff's Office executed a search at McLeod’s residence in Omaha, Arkansas.  After being confronted with evidence gathered through surveillance and law enforcement technologies, McLeod confessed to stealing the vehicle and cooperated with law enforcement in locating the stolen vehicle.  During the investigation, officers also uncovered evidence connected to the theft of two (2) Cub Cadet zero-turn mowers stolen from The Home Depot of Harrison.  Surveillance footage, communications information, cellphone evidence, and additional law enforcement technology images linked McLeod to the thefts and the transportation of the stolen equipment.

On May 20, 2026, law enforcement executed a search warrant with the assistance of the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and Green Forest Police Department, resulting in the recovery of both stolen mowers: a Cub Cadet 42-inch zero-turn mower and a second mower stolen days later. Combined with the recovered Dodge Ram truck, the total value of recovered property is estimated at approximately $25,000.00.  Detectives of the Harrison Police Department credited some of the law enforcement technologies as critical tools in quickly identifying the suspect, locating stolen properties, and assisting in the successful recovery effort.  The investigation remains ongoing, and additional stolen property may still be recovered.

Additional note: Samuel McLeod is due for an appearance in Boone County Circuit Court on June 15.
