NIXA, Mo. — Journalism students at Nixa High School received a prestigious award for their multi-media news coverage during the 2024-25 school year.
Nixa journalism students were honored with a George H. Gallup Award from the Quill & Scroll International Honor Society for High School Journalists, according to Nixa Schools. The award is given to programs that are ranked by a judge as “superior” in five categories: General Practices, Coverage, Writing and Editing, Visuals and Digital.
Nixa High School won primarily for its student-led Wingspan magazine. Nixa’s news coverage also includes the NixaJournalism.net, EagleAir TV, the Nixa Eagle yearbook, and students in Nixa High School’s Introduction to Journalism classes.
