One of the first traffic accidents worked by the Missouri State Highway Patrol in 2023 occurs in the Lakes Region.
According to the online accident report, the crash took place around 1:45 am on Highway D in Crane when a SUV driven by 24-year-old Ezekil Simpson of St. Louis went off the left side of the road and struck a ditch.
Simpson sustained serious injuries in the crash and was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment.
This accident was the second of the New Year worked by the Missouri State Highway Patrol statewide.
