A person suffered serious injuries after falling from an upper floor into an open elevator shaft during an incident Saturday.
According to a Facebook Post from Branson Professional Firefighters Local 152, fire crews were dispatched at approximately 1:40 p.m. for what was reported as a technical rescue and medical emergency.
Arriving units found the patient at the bottom of the elevator shaft, entangled in mechanical equipment.
Firefighters secured the elevator system, gained access to the patient and began providing immediate medical treatment.
Taney County Ambulance District Paramedics and a Branson Police Department Officer stabilized the injured person. Crews were then able to free the patient from the equipment and remove them from the elevator pit.
The patient was transported to a hospital in serious condition.
Emergency crews remained at the scene for approximately one hour.
The location of the incident and the name of the person involved were not released in the report.
