Sanctuary provides sanctuary to those escaping domestic violence.
It's a "domestic violence shelter and outreach program," according to Haylea Roberson. She got into the organization after applying for a job with it close to December. It serves Boone, Marion, Carroll, Newton and Madison counties.
Sanctuary has a shelter, resource, and outreach side. Roberson's job focus on outreach. She educates people on awareness and prevention of domestic violence.
Roberson also helps advocate for people coming to Sanctuary in court. The organization helps in another way too. They help abusers who want to reform.
Roberson recommends anyone who's in a violent situation call Sanctuary's hotline at 870-741-2121. The line is always open.
Roberson is available by phone at 870-416-8378 during weekdays. More was discussed on the broadcast.
The full interview with Roberson is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
