Snow Sweeps Through the Ozarks

Winter Storm Cora has swept through the Lakes Region dropping several inches of snow.

The snow began rolling through the Lakes Region late afternoon/early evening Thursday leaving roads snow covered. Snow is forecast to continue through most of the morning before reducing to flurries this afternoon.

Winter Storm Warnings remain in place for the Ozarks through the day. A storm total of four to eight inches is expected with some higher localized amounts possible. 

Most area government buildings are closed today though emergency services are still operating. 

Schools throughout the region are closed and many businesses will operate on revised hours today. Check out the cancellation and closure page on our website for more information.

Travel is not advised unless absolutely necessary. If needing to travel, motorist are urged to have a winter survival kit in case of emergency.

    The Hollister Schools Foundation has presented a $4,000 check to the Hollister R-V School District, funds raised during last spring’s "Coins for a Cause" fundraiser. The generous donation will be used to help purchase two therapy dogs for the district, set to debut at the start of the 2025-2026 school year. The check was presented to Superintendent Dr. Brian Wilson and Assistant Superintendent of District Operations, Dr. Sean Woods, by foundation board members Katie Adams, Ryan Gdovin, and Denise Olmstead.
