A storm system approaching the Lakes Region will bring rain and storms and especially strong and gusty winds according to the latest information from weather forecasters.
The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for northern Arkansas beginning at Noon today while the advisory extends into southern Missouri early Wednesday morning as the wind could gust over 40 MPH as winds shift from the southwest to the northwest bringing in much colder air.
The weather service continues to predict rain of an inch or greater today and a marginal to slight risk of severe thunderstorms with hail and isolated tornados also a threat. Rain could briefly change over to snow showers before exiting the area Wednesday morning, though little to any accumulation is expected.
Strong winds will continue to hit the area on Wednesday before beginning to diminish on Thursday. Highs Wednesday will be in the 40s but will quickly warm up for the rest of the week.
