The first round of storms moving through the region early Monday morning came with hail, strong winds, and flooding.
While most of the Lakes Region was sparred the strongest of the storms, up to 55 MPH winds were reported by weather observers in central and southern Barry County to the National Weather Service in Springfield. There were also reports of three quarters inch hail in areas between Springfield, Ozark, and Nixa while flooding was reported in areas around Joplin.
More storms are expected through the area with the potential of severe storms redeveloping with heavy rain at times. After a break in the rain during the day Tuesday, more strong to severe storms are expected Tuesday night into Wednesday.
