Troop I of the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a Pedestrian vs. Semi-Truck Accident on Interstate 44 early Tuesday morning has claimed the life of a Lakes Area man.
The accident happened in Phelps County just after midnight when a 55-year-old man from Merriam Woods was walking along the interstate when he was struck by two tractor trailer trucks. The man, not identified in the report, was pronounced dead at the scene.
While one of the two trucks involved sustained extensive damage, no other injuries were reported by the patrol.
