Traffic Crashes Tuesday Afternoon in Lakes Region

Emergency personnel were busy Tuesday afternoon working a pair of crashes in the Lakes Region.

The Southern Stone County Fire Protection District reports on their Facebook Page that they along with Mercy Emergency Medical Services, Stone County Sheriff, and Missouri Highway Patrol worked a crash around 1:15 on DD Highway near Gobblers Knob Road. The report indicates that personnel had to extricate the driver of a vehicle that had gone off the road and struck a tree. The debris from the crash also did minor damage to a nearby vehicle. The driver, a 65-year-old woman from Branson West, was airlifted to Cox South in Springfield in serious condition according to a follow-up report from the MSHP.

Around the same time, a two-vehicle crash happened on Fall Creek Road in Branson. According to the MSHP report, the driver of a SUV from Branson slid across the road to strike another SUV. Two people from Arkansas in the second vehicle were taken to Cox Medical Center Branson with minor injuries.
